MASSACHUSETTS, 1861-1951 An Impressionist oil on canvas painting of a finch by Charles Drew Cahoon. The finch is depicted perched on the branch of a pine tree amongst green pine needles and pinecones. While naturalist in subject, the work exhibits loose brush strokes and softened form as seen throughout the majority of Cahoon's work. The painting is signed in the lower right corner "C.D. Cahoon".


Canvas measures 12 1/4" by 20 1/4", framed 22" by 30"

One antique repair to canvas, minor but stable craquelure, small but stable loss of paint top left, otherwise good original condition.
