Russian Imperial Badge of the Life-Guards Sankt-Petersburgsky Regiment, 1910. Kulm cross covered with black enamel. On the cross there is a double headed eagle beneath the Imperial crown from which ribbons are falling. On the breast of the eagle is the gold cypher of the Empress Catherine I beneath the gold Imperial crown. The eagle is holding a circular laurel wreath in its claws, tied at the base in a cross shape by a gold ribbon. Inside it is the gold cypher of the Emperor Nicholas II beneath the gold Imperial crown. On the lateral rays of the cross are written the silver figures -17- and -26-. Bronze gilded, black enamel. Size is 43.56 x 41.54, weight 13.7 g. This particular badge was bought at winkler-auktion (Germany). Reference: V.Kempf.
