Description
Three pieces of Doulton Lambeth stoneware. The match holder with salt-glaze that depicts a man in a life preserver with raised letters reading "SAVED". The figure measures 3 x 4 1/4 inches, dates from the late 19th century and is impressed on the underside of the base with a Doulton Lambeth stamp. Additional artist marks incised on underside of base. Stoneware candlestick with wide wax tray and brass stem, measuring 5 x 6 inches and dating from the late 19th/ early 20th century. Underside of base is inscribed with artist's marks and impressed with Doulton Lambeth stamp. Stoneware candlestick featuring female royalty. "EBENEZER" is inscribed beneath one figure and "JOHN XV 16" is inscribed beneath the other. The candlestick is ornately incised with scroll work and glazed in browns, greens and blues. Measuring 10 1/2 x 3 3/4 inches it dates from the late 19th century.
