Doulton Lambeth by George Tinworth, Mice Painting Class with Trumpet Vase, 5 inches tall, with GT conjoined Initials, George Tinworth (1843-1913) was the most original talent and successful artist with Doulton Lambeth. Sir Henry Cole, Director of the South Kensington Museum visited the Lambeth Studios in 1878, and commented privately that the uneducated George Tinworth was an untrained genius. Provenance: The Boca Raton Museum of Art
Condition
in good condition apart from a small chip along the base and an imperfection to the lip of the vase which has been restored. Possible other minor restorations.
