Doulton Lambeth American Indian Pitcher, 1893, by Edward Kemeys, Stoneware, Overall: 6 IN x 9.5 IN x 7 INCHES, designed by Edward Kemeys for Burley & Co. in 1898 and cast at the Doulton & Co. Lambeth works. The vessel features the visages of Indians on both sides and at the spout and a full-length Native American forms the handle. Impressed on the bottom with a Burley & Co. circular logo which contains the statement "American Indian Pitcher model by Edward Kemeys made by Doulton & Co., Lambeth Eng." and marked around the perimeter with the information that it has been patented in Germany, France, American and England and containing the name Chicago in block letters. The designer's signature and a wolf head are impressed on the side.
