Condition
Half of the rim has been repaired and overpainted, and the anthemion leaves on the base of the vase
(above the stem foot) also exhibit signs of past restoration and overpainting. One of the applied roundels
is lacking and much of the raised gilding has been "touched-up" - notably the fleur-de-lis on the foot. The
vase is mounted on a square brass base. Additional photographs are recommended. The blue ground
retains excellent clarity of color.
NOTE: The vase height proper is 14" and 14-1/2" with the brass base, not 15-1/2" as is stated in the
catalogue description.
