Bound in at the front is a dedication page in manuscript, with a full page dedication to a Mrs. Round from a William Kinnard, dated September, 1791. Beneath that is a shorter inscription by Thomas Round. With the decorative bookplate of William S. Stone. Cowper's translation of the Iliad, complete in one volume. The second volume, being Cowper's Odyssey is not present. Cowper spent six years preparing this translation, as he had found Pope's translation to be unfaithful to the original.
