Japanese Meiji mixed metal and basketweave smoking set from the early 1900s. The fine Japanese Meiji period three piece smoking set includes a sterling silver rimmed, glass lined covered ashtray with a silver lid and engraved florals, a silver matchbox with engraved florals, and mixed metal cigarette box with engraved florals and copper leaves. The accoutrements are set into a black lacquer and basketweave case with double silver swing handles. Includes the original wooden gift box with cover. Unsigned but has been tested to be .925 sterling silver or higher grade. Good condition, almost unused. Measures 3 inches high x 10.5 inches wide x 6.2 inches deep.
