Description
American, late 19th century. A J. & E. Stevens "World's Fair" cast iron mechanical bank, made to commemorate the 1893 Chicago World's Fair, marked with title on side and PAT APPL'D FOR. Place coin in front of Christopher Columbus and pull his arm to pop up a figure under the tree trunk and deposit the coin; ht. 6.5, wd. 8, dp. 3.25 in.
Condition
Spots of repainting on sides, top of tree trunk, on Columbus' arm, and Indian. Wear and spots of paint loss, could use a cleaning. For blacklight photos please email cleveland@cowans.com.
