Description
All from Charleston and South Carolina. All Sterling and all antique. 1- Dominick & Haff Sterling for James Allen. On the handle, a stoic Sergeant William Jasper of the 2nd South Carolina Regiment points toward the defeated British fleet after the 1776 battle of Fort Sullivan. Below in the spoon’s bowl are embossed the unmistakable blasted out ruins of Fort Sumter circa 1865. The back has "Charleston" in a ornate Art Nouveau Script. 2- Alvin Sterling Bowl embossed with Fort Sumter, April 12, 1861. 3- Mechanics Sterling S. Carolina, with State Seal, the back with the statue of John C. Calhoun, St. Michaels Church and the State Capital. 4- R. Wallace & Sons Sterling Bowl Old St. Michael's Church, Charleston, SC. Weight on all 113 grams. PROVENANCE: A Charleston SC Private Estate.
