John Cary: A NEW MAP OF PART OF THE UNITED STATES OF NORTH AMERICA, CONTAINING THE CAROLINAS and GEORGIA, ALSO THE FLORIDAS AND PART OF THE BAHAMA ISLANDS & C., 1821. Scarce map, the only edition of Cary's map of the Southeastern U.S. to include the Alabama and Mississippi Territories. Also includes Tennessee spelled Tenassee, Louisiana, and the Missouri Territory. Includes many Native American sites such as the Principal Hunting Ground of the Western Party and Six Villages. Engraved and hand tinted. Image - 18" x 20". Sheet - 21 1/2" x 24". Provenance: The estate of Dr. Benjamin H. Caldwell, Nashville, Tennessee. Condition

Fragile. 3" separations along each end of the center fold, chipping along edges, with losses up to 22"; 1/2" spot of foxing to margin area south of Florida tip, other scattered spots of foxing.
