c. 1840, ebonized with a pierced carved gallery, the pair of doors and sides with a carved oval floral wreath, carved paw feet, 40.5”h; 43”w; 22”d
Descended through the Brown/Slocum family of Bellevue Ave., Newport, RI.
Harold Brown, descendent of John and Moses Brown of Providence, RI, commissioned a summer mansion on Bellevue Ave. in Newport RI to be built in the late 19th c. This was adjacent to his parent’s mansion. The home was later purchased by the niece of Georgette Brown. This and the next similar two lots were found in the attic.
