Description
Persian plate. Glazed ceramic. Attributed to the 17th C. Height: 2 1/2", Diameter: 12 1/2". Circular plate, glazed with a blue-green pigment. Bottom marked "DEF 2058", "20.58", and marked with a sticker reading "Old Persian Koubatcha". Provenance: Previously from the collection of the Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Purchased from Hammer Galleries, New York.
Condition
Fair Condition; scratches on surface of plate. Areas of pitting to the glaze. Raised rough areas across surface. Small area of discoloration to one side. Loss of glaze around edge of plate. Thinness of glaze around base. Small chip to raised base. Condition reports are available from Stefek's upon request.
