Item Details

Description

In the style of Anne Vallayer-Coster (French, 1744-1818). Oil on canvas, 18th C. Sight: 17 3/4" x 13 1/2" ea. Frame: 23" x 18 7/8" ea. Paintings depict floral bouquets and are featured in gilt wood and gesso frames. Paintings appear unsigned. Both works have a tag to the reverse reading, "A pair of 18th Century French Flower Pictures, painted by Villier Coster". One painting with restoration label affixed to center of stretcher, reading "cleaned/restored and varnished 1983".
