Description
c. 1820. Sight: 7 1/4" x 5 3/4". Frame: 11" x 9 3/4". Image displays a female figure with goldfinch and male figure writing in the background. Gilt frame features a reverse painted glass panel. Affixed to the back of the frame is a piece of paper that includes a handwritten copy of "Epitaph on Miss R-'s Goldfinch" by Rev. John Newton of London, originally published in "Twenty-One Letters written to a Near Relative At School" in 1809.
Condition
Good Condition; silk displays minor discoloration in a couple small areas, and overall wear consistent with age. Condition reports are available from Stefek's upon request.
