Description
Attributed to Matthew Egerton (American, 18th/19th C.). Mahogany, brass. c. 1800-1810. Height: 30", Length: 19 1/2", Depth: 15 1/2". Hepplewhite inlaid mahogany sewing stand with concave front, one drawer, and one sewing slide. Top of stand centered by an inlaid medallion with Grecian urn motif. Line inlays throughout. Tapered legs end in brass castors. Attributed to Matthew Egerton of New Brunswick, New Jersey.
Condition
Fair Condition; piece displays losses to finish of tabletop surface, chipping, and scratches to back and legs. Chip to corner of drawer. Holes to inside of drawer. Damage around replaced brass pulls.
