MASSACHUSETTS/NEW JERSEY, 1923-2013 A fine oil on board impressionist landscape painting by Wayne Beam Morrel. The work was an experimental exercise for the artist in where he utilized a thick impasto technique in rendering a rocky coast with moving surf and trees. While annotated "Impressionistic" by the artist, the work is certainly on the fringe of abstraction with an ebb and flow of color. The painting is signed lower left "Wayne Morrell" and annotated "Experimental Impressionistic Rocks & Moving Surf & Trees", "To Collection of Mr. & Mrs *** Milton, Mass", and signed "Wayne Morrel" on verso.
Dimensions:Oil on Masonite measures 15 3/4" by 20", framed 22 3/4" by 26 3/4".
