2 room wedding bed with intricately carved panels and scenes. Inlaid with mother of pearl shell and mirror, gilded and hand painted. Panels can be raised or lowered for privacy or warmth. Carvings and scenes include life lessons, Chineses stories & symbols for prosperity, and good fortune. Symbols on the top outside arch mean the couple should respect each other. Symbols inside mean "get up when the cock crows" "go to work and don't do anything else". Unique feature of this bed is that it is held together without nails & screws.
