Details: Yixing Pottery Tree Trunk Form Vase from China. This unusual Zisha Ware Terracotta tree bark vase, incised with calligraphy and signature, stands approx. 11.75" high. It is two-tone brown with tree twig/bark form handles.

Zisha Ware is made with Yixing Clay, which is a type of clay from the region near the city of Yixing in Jiangsu Province, China. This clay has been used in Chinese pottery since the Song dynasty (960â€“1279) when Yixing clay was first mined around China's Lake Tai. (Courtesy of Wikipedia)
