Description
Title: The Palm at the End of the Mind
Publisher: Knopf
Publication Date: 1971
Binding: Hardcover
Book Condition: Very Good
Dust Jacket Condition: No Jacket
Edition: 1st Edition
This is the stated First Edition, published by Knopf in 1971, of "The Palm at the End of the Mind" (398 numbered pages, plus notes and index), Selected Poems and a Play by Wallace Stevens, edited by Holly Stevens. The dust jacket is good overall, but with scuffs and shallow edge wear, including a tear at the upper back edge. There is a ring stain, presumably the reminder of a glass's bottom. The lettering is unfaded. The cover (app. 6.5" x 9.5"), orange cloth background with gold lettering and design to the spine, debossed initials to the front cover, is in very good condition, with slight sun fade to the top border, but no notable stains, no tears and only slight curl to the ends of the spine, which is straight and securely attached. The dyed top edges have light stains. The outside and bottom edges have none. The page faces are clean throughout the book, with no stains or scuffs, and no fade to the lettering, which is fine, beginning to end. There are no page tears or creases. The binding is tight, with no loose or missing pages. The accompanying photos are accurate reflections of the book conditions. International mail would be by first class, with a charge of $35.00, or priority, which a charge of $45.00. Bookseller Inventory # 1036
