Description
Europe, German states, Hamburg, ca. 1765 CE. A silver one shilling coin minted by the city of Hamburg when it was part of the Holy Roman Empire. On the back is a castle, representing the city walls of Hamburg. A second layer of these fortifications had been added during the Thirty Years War, and they were an impressive sight. The coin is set into a modern 14K gold pendant. Size of pendant: 1.5" W (3.8 cm); total weight 4 grams
