1841 John Tyler Indian Peace Medal. Medium 62.4 mm Size. Struck at the United States Mint in Bronze. Gem Uncirculated.
Julian IP-22. 62.4 mm. Medium Size Medal struck from the Original Obverse and the Later Reverse Dies, indicating a striking sometime after 1846. An officially struck medal of the United States Mint (the rare silver versions were made only for presentation purposes). The obverse has a profile bust with “John Tyler President of the U.S.A.D. 1841” and the reverse has Clasp Hands of friendship below a crossed Peace pipe and tomahawk, with the legend “Peace and Friendship”. The last example of this rarer John Tyler Indian Peace medal we offered was over a decade ago, in December of 2006.
