This lot consists of an etching on wove cotton paper signed lower right ''Picasso'' in pencil. Written in pencil is ''I/XV'' and ''E.A.' in the lower left indicating it's the first of fifteen artist's proofs, sometimes referred to in French ''épreuve d'artist'' or ''E.A.'' Dated 25.2.71 reverse printed in the top left Corner. Image shows the artist, pallet in one hand, brush in the other, painting directly on to his nude model. She is putting on eye make-up and looking at her reflection in a hand mirror. Done in the Cubist style of Pablo Picasso (Spanish 1881-1973). Bold, clear impression. Image measures approx. 5.5'' x 4'' with a sheet size of approx. 8.5'' x 6''.

Paper has light toning and spots of slight discoloration. Small creases, bumps and nicks near the edges of the paper. Heavier discoloration and staining en verso, possibly moisture related but not visible from the front. The image and signature are clear and show very well.
