Lot Essay: Unusually inscribed in English - most likely painted when artist visited and painted in upstate New York.
Prior to becoming an artist, Ducasse worked for a governmental agriculture agency. He is renowned for historical and musical scenes. On a US sojourn, one of several, he painted narrative Haitian events with wintry upstate New York backgrounds. Self-taught/Outsider Art
