Prussian Model 1809 Potsdam musket converted to percussion and dated 1834, muzzle load, .70 caliber, round 41.25" barrel, three brass barrel bands, two sling swivels, trumpet end ramrod, stamped "10" marked on all brass, two sling swivels, "crown over N" on left rear barrel, inspector mark on stock above trigger, lockplate with engraved illegible name having initials "J.W.", the stock stamped with "crown over F.W. (Frederick Wilhelm, King of Prussia 1797-1840), brass buttplate with 1834 date and two serial numbers: 15022 and 114403 Note: Near the beginning of the Civil War, the U.S. Government purchased several thousand Model 1809 muskets from Prussia that were later used in the Union's Western campaigns.
