Condition
In overall good condition. The painting exhibits a few campaigns of professional and conservative
restoration: it has been cleaned, relined and revarnished several times, which makes it difficult for UV light
to fully penetrate the surface. Minor inpainted "retouching" is scattered throughout the armor and was
detected on the pantaloons, on the far right edge and possibly to the forehead. Faint craquelure is
scattered throughout. Please note the height of the painting is 85-3/4" not 83" as previously stated.
