Large Pre-Columbian Pottery COLIMA Standing male figure with staff, large figure, arm raised, horn-like projection on head. Large oval chest piece or ornament. Two looped projections on the back. Red slip. 16" height 6lb. From the Estate of Dr. Gordon Saver, husband of Eunice Saver, an esteemed archaeologist of 35 years, known for her published work with the Institute of Archaeology at UCLA, her work with the International Institute for Mesopotamian Area Studies, her work on sites in Syria and elsewhere, and in researching and deciphering ancient hieroglyphics and cylinder seals.
Condition
Condition commensurate with age, some loss and restoration to staff, loss to hand, foot, slip worn with most remaining on the back Felt on feet.
