A circa. 1900 Sheet Metal Rooster Weathervane in original painted surface (black body, red coxcomb) on custom stand. Nice, crisp cut-out tail and comb. Rooster measures 11 ½” from beak to tail and 9 ¾” high, excluding the post. With the post and stand, the overall height is about 16 ¾” (rooster detaches easily from the stand, which has little pads for “feet” to prevent it from scratching whatever it is sitting on). Condition of the piece is very fine or better. Some paint rubbing here and there but no significant areas of loss or surface oxidation. There are no splits, breaks, cracks or bends in the sheet metal (thicker than the average that you see) and the stand “presents” it at a very nice height!
