A stone lamp in the form of a duck from the Middle Ages, c. 5th - 10th Century AD, with nicely styled head and body and standing on a circular base. The piece is covered in many parts by heavy mineral deposits with remains of bronze inside the fill hole. 5 in x 3 3/4 in (12.7 x 9.5 cm). A most interesting piece! Ex New Jersey private collection.
