Description
A lovely Romano-Egyptian terracotta head of a woman, c. 2nd - 3rd Century AD, wearing a laurel crown, her hair styled in heavy ridges with a coiled plait at the back of her head. Her features are nicely modeled with ears holed for earrings. H: 2 3/5 in (6.7cm). Removable wood base. Ex collection of Howard Mathues, Philadelphia, acquired late 1950's - early 1960's.
