George Lethbridge Saunders (1807-1863) watercolor painting, c.1840 of The Young Beggar, after the 17th century painting by Bartolome Esteban Murillo (1617-1682) c.1650. Sight measurement 6.5" x 8.25". Well framed and matted under glass, 11.75" x 13.5" x 1" deep.
NOTE: Unsigned. Artist identification noted on the reverse. Additional artist identification and history of the painting's descension in the family is noted on a list of Saunder's paintings from 1926 (in the list, the painting's title is misidentified as "The Beggar Boy").
PROVENANCE: Consigned by a family descendant of George Lethbridge Saunders.
