Description
Grant of William, son of Richard de Bosco de Tetenhale, of four sections of ploughland to Richard de Yvo, cleric, and his wife Alice, for a silver halfpenny annually at Michaelmas , manuscript document in Latin, on parchment [England, late thirteenth century] Single sheet, with 14 long lines in a good English secretarial hand, endorsed in later medieval hand on reverse, some smudges, discolouration and folds, but overall good condition, small green wax seal (somewhat rubbed) with seal tags still attached, 104+15 by 217mm. This document, while undated, was clearly important for the local community. It is witnessed by three local lords: William, lord of Wroccesleye , Ralph, lord of Lissebyerryer and John, lord of Pertone , and specifies that its judgements were made contra omnes homines et feminas suggesting a pre-existing bitter dispute.
