Provenance: James D. Julia Auctioneers, Fairfield, Maine, August 24, 2005, Lot 49 Acquired from the above sale by the present owner. Catalogue Note: Accompanied with a letter from Maurice Ritman. Louis Ritman studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts but is best known for his paintings that he created in Giverny, France. The Garden, circa 1915 shows Ritman's ability to capture a tranquil scene during his time in rural France while under the inspiration of Claude Monet.

Condition
