Description
A CHINESE EXPORT GLAZED STONEWARE FIGURE OF A HORSE, 19TH CENTURY, the blue/white glazed prancing horse with upraised left hoof, wearing bridle and Chinese style saddle and flowers in it's mane and at the top of the wrapped and braided tail, raised on flaring rectangular plinth with canted corners, iron red highlights, red painted Museum of Fine Arts Houston accession number "B.76.156." Height: 9" Width: 9 1/4" Depth: 3 3/4"
Condition
Both ears broken and partially restored, breaks and repairs to applied flowers along the mane and tail, tail broken and reglued, restoration to right nozzle, overall losses to glaze, chips to bottom edge of plinth.
