in the manner of ANDRE CHARLES BOULLE (French 1642-1732) A GILT BRONZE MOUNTED MARQUETRY VENEERED CLOCK ON STAND, LE ORE-NEW ART INTERNATIONAL, ITALY, CIRCA 1987, with eight day movement by Franz Hermle & Sohns, Weurttemberg, Germany, 1987, the splayed pedimented kingwood veneered case with satinwood, tulipwood, and green dyed wood floral inlays, surmounted by a gilt bronze figure of Minerva seated holding her shield and spear and wearing a feathered headdress, over a reticulated balustrade with four flaming urns at the corners with therm figures at the sides, centering dial with lambrequin design gilt bronze center and black Roman numerals on shaped white enamel inserts, behind arched glazed door mounted with gilt bronze appliqué of Apollo and his chariot, the case ending with gilt bronze outlined scrolls raised on four recumbent gilt bronze horses, on shaped plinth fronted by lappet shape gilt bronze outlined front raised on four gilt bronze tapered acanthus feet, together with matching console form pedestal, the movement marked "87, FHS Germany, 151-080." Height: 81" Width: 31 1/4" Depth: 12 3/4"
Condition
In overall good condition with one split to the veneer along the left rear side of the clock case, minor surface rubbing and wear commensurate with age and use, glazing to the door missing. Movement not tested.
