DESCRIPTION: A Chinese vermeil silver cloisonne enameled lantern. Features an overall vermeil silver filigree foundation. The base features filigree fenghuangs with dangling amethyst teardrop beads at the ends of chains hanging from their beaks. The stem is embellished with the tails of the fenghuang, each garnished by jade cabochons. The lantern itself is composed of filigree vermeil silver with enameled floral motifs and lotus flowers. Finished with fenghuangs along the lid, garnished with chains of teardrop amethyst beads and jadeite cabochons. Fitted to an embroidered silk lined base. Includes a copy of a certified appraisal from Davante Galleries, Inc, done in 1982, for $8,500.00
