Description
ARKANSAS/MASSACHUSETTS A clay relief triptych sculpture by contemporary artist Shelley Buonaiuto. When displayed the work depicts a chain of ten whimsically modeled figures holding hands and dancing during a Mardi Gras Voodoo masquerade. The sculpture was masterfully executed with open work and intricately incised and modeled details as if the figures were coming to life off the panel. Notice the intricacies of each full figured mask. The work is signed "Shelley Buonaiuto" and dated 1986.
