FINE AMERICAN, PROBABLY NEW YORK, FEDERAL INLAID MAHOGANY AND PARCEL-GILT LOOKING GLASS / WALL MIRROR, giltwood broken scrolled pediment with incising and rosette-carved terminals centering a giltwood vase with flowers and wheat, tympanum and frieze with oval panels defined by string inlay as well as alternating light and dark inlaid fluting, carved giltwood pendant floral devices trail the sides of the frame, likely original eglomise panel depicting a pastoral scene above a mirrored pane in inlaid mahogany and incised giltwood framing, cut-out scrolled pendant with inlaid oval panel. White pine secondary wood. Retains an old surface with warm color. Probably New York. Circa 1805. 61" HOA, 24 1/2" WOA.
Very good overall condition with restoration to gilt elements. Other possible areas of restoration to urn and floral devices. Mirror plate possibly replaced.
