DESCRIPTION: Donald MacLaughlin (Massachusetts/Canada, 1876 - 1938). Two etchings on paper. Each with a wooden frame with mat and glass. Includes: 1) Etching titled "Clock Tower". Signed lower left in plate. Signed lower right in pencil. 11-3/4" x 4-7/8". Overall with frame and mat 20-1/4" x 13-1/4". 2) Etching dated 1926. Signed lower right in pencil and in plate. Depicts construction of a cathedral. 16-1/2" x 12-7/8". Overall with frame and mat 25-1/2" x 21-1/2". PROVENANCE: From the collection of Dr. Beate A. Schiwek (1943-2016), Chambersburg, PA. Dr. Schiwek was the Dean and Chief Academic Officer at Felician College in Lodi, NJ, Wilson College in Chambersburg, PA and Rosemont College in Rosemont, PA. While at Felician, she became the first dean of a private college to serve as National President of the Council of Colleges at Arts & Sciences. MEASUREMENTS: See Description. CONDITION: Minor wear to frames. Minor toning and undulation to paper.
