Description
Wood with polychrome painting, copper and glass. Japan, Momoyama - Edo Period
Standing on a stepped base, with flames beneath his feat, the blue-skinned, eight-armed guardian figure snarls expressively. His crown is made of painted copper and the attributes which are present are made of copper wire with glass pearls. He has flaming hair which arise from the crown and a third eye.

Dimensions: HEIGHT 24 CM
Condition: Three of the eight arms missing; partially restored
Provenance: From an old Austrian private collection acquired before 1930, with old collection label
