Comprises: 1.) Reproduction 8" x 10"photograph depicting the February 23, 1962, ceremony of President John F. Kennedy paying tribute to astronaut John H. Glenn Jr. for his February 1962 flight aboard Friendship 7. The Mercury-Atlas 6 mission marked the free world's first orbital manned flight. Signed at upper left center "For Alan / John Glenn." Bears rubber stamps on verso from the U.S. Army Photographic Agency and Cecil W. Stoughton. 2.) Printed 1 page, 4to, bill "H.R. 10307" issued by 87th Congress "providing that the President shall award...a gold medal to Lieutenant Colonel John Hershal Glenn, Jr., dated February 20, 1962. Signed at upper right side "John Glenn" and countersigned by Massachusetts Representative "Silvio O. Conte" who had introduced the bill. 3.) Two imprinted commemorative postal covers announcing the "First Presentation of The Congressional Space Medal of Honor..." with circular hand stamp cancellations "Cape Canaveral, Fl. 32920 / Oct 1 AM 1978." Both signed at upper center "John Glenn." Accompanied by original imprinted Untied States Senate envelope bearing Glenn's printed franking signature at right. 4.) One page, 4to, autograph letter signed "Jim Neighbours," on imprinted "Grumman Aircraft Engineering Corporation" stationery, dated February 21, 1972. Accompanied by 2 gold and 15 silver 8" x 3" strips of foil. 5.) 1/4 page, 4to, typewritten letter, unsigned, on imprinted "National Aeronautics and Space Administration" stationery.
