Item: Original vintage antique romantic love ring with diamonds and sapphire

Condition: very good condition

Country of origin: France

Period: ca. 1915

Theme: Toi et Moi ring - The French call this shape of rings "Toi et Moi" which means "You and me".

Material: Two tones of precious metal, the main part being 18K red gold and the white parts are either white gold or platinum.

Diamonds: One old European cut diamond with an estimated weight of approx. 0.25 crt. (approximate color and clarity: J/K, si) and six rose cut diamonds . We do not have the weight of the diamonds which is normal in our trade when it comes to rose cuts.

Note: All diamond weights, color grades and clarity are approximate since the stones were not removed from their mounts to preserve the integrity of the setting.

Total diamond weight: approx. 0.25 crt. (without the rose cut diamonds)

Precious stones: One sapphire with an estimated weight of approximately 0.18 crt.

Hallmarks: The French control mark representing a "mascaron" (French for "grotesque mask") that was in use in France from 1912 and used for into France imported platinum jewelry and objects.

From within their crown-setting of this 18K red gold French Victorian "toi et moi"-engagement ring from 1919, an old European cut diamond and a sapphire each frolic at the end of a swell in white precious metal encrusted with six rose cut diamonds. It's as if Cupid caught the sparkling fire of two unified souls and stored it in these diamonds for their light to last forever.
