The traditional garment worn by men in Bokhara was a silk ikat chapan: a voluminous coat with long arms open at the front. Several chapans were frequently worn on top of one another. In this white-ground chapan, the design consists of elongated, green and inky blue serrated bands which form shapes resembling flashes of lightning. The coat is edged with an embroidered trim. – Well preserved.
