Very scarce Japanese scroll group, "Scrolls of the Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido" (Tokaid gojusantsugi emaki), c. 1922, woodblock print over collotype, based on the paintings by Kyoto artists Otani Sonyu (1885-1939) and Kashu Iguchi (1880-1930), published by Nihon Taikansha, presented in a black lacquer box with gold filigree designs and title "Tokaido gojusantsugi emaki," over 215 ft of scroll, some creasing and spotting, one scroll fitting tightly in box, 14.5lbs total **From a private Texas estate** Princeton University Library holds a similar set of scrolls in their collection.
