GEORGIAN MAHOGANY PAIR OF KNIFE BOXES, each serpentine front with slanting hinged lid, molded edges, applied beading, ornate brass lock, bail handles, and hinges, original divided interiors with fabric lining. Each retain an old surface with warm color. Second half 18th century. 13 1/4" H, 8 1/2" x 9".
Very good condition, each with small patch to center of lid and some expected cracking to veneer.
Provenance: From the Charles Fritzel collection, Washington, DC.
