AMERICAN SCHOOL (19TH CENTURY) FOLK ART PORTRAIT OF A MAN, oil on canvas laid down on board, dark-haired youthful sitter sporting black coat and tie, his hand resting on an open document, red drape in background, no signature located. Housed in a period frame. Circa 1840. 41 1/4" HOA, 35" W, 35" x 29" sight.
Good visual condition with possible inpainting concealed under heavy varnish. Frame with later surface.
