Description
Large perfume dispenser that was used in the early drug stores to dispenser perfume. Patent is from 1871. Extremely rare to find with original red globes and glass bowl dispenser on top. The weight of the water in the base is used to compress the air in the sonar thus making a motive power which is without mechanism and therefore dispenses perfume. It is a simple law of hydrostatics practically applied. Unit is in great condition with very minor wear. Some oxidation to the metal. Mounted on a marble base.
