Eugene von Blaas (Italy, Austria, 1843 - 1932) Monumental Pastel of three women. Signed and dated 1919 lower right. Sight size: 45 x 40 in. Overall Size: 54 x 49 in. After Albert Joseph Moore's (1841 - 1893) painting "Midsummer". Eugene Von Blaas had an international exhibiting career. He was a regular exhibitor to the Esposizione Nationale exhibitions in Venice and the Jubilaums Austellungs held in Vienna and Munich. Between 1875 and 1891 de Blaas exhibited twelve works at the Royal Academy in London. By 1885 the London art dealer Arthur Tooth & Son represented de Blaas for a short time before he moved to the rival dealer T. MacLean in 1886. Works by Eugene de Blaas can be found in many public and private collections throughout the world, most notably in institutions in Melbourne, Sydney, Vienna, Leicester, Nottingham, Sheffield, and the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
