Item Details

Description

18th C Tibetan Thangka Of Avalokiteshvara:
Avalokiteshvara has four arms and is sitting in the lotus position on a lotus pedestal. He is wearing a crown and holding a mala in one hand, and a flower in the other. His central hands are clasped in front of him with an oval orb in between them. Under the central Buddha is a large palace that we can see through to the domestic scenes around him.

Provenance: Acquired from a warehouse in Philadelphia that sat abandoned for over 20 years. The previous owner is believed to be an artist and photographer based out of New York.
