by Bodyscope Inc. New York 16, N.Y.
This large-format study aid demonstrates the many complex functions of the male and female body with a simple turn of the circular levers to allow the student to graduate from one anatomical system to the next.
Bodyscope guide contains diagrams and texts on head, brain, sensory organs, nervous system, teeth, skeletal system, internal organs, and reproductive system.
The charming combination of period fonts, Art Deco design and iconographic frames. The spandrel on either side of the arched legends hold portraits of luminaries of medicine such as Hippocrates, Aristotle, Da Vinci and Darwin. Most of the text is the anatomical descriptions. The legends directly above the figures relate social and moral context of anatomy.
Full-color illustrations and inner volvelle. The guide is made strong cardboard. Cutout windows in each chart allow rotating views of the torso and accompanying legends in the arches, providing 5 different views of the internal organs. A numbered key indicates which of the organ systems displayed. Volvelle held by rivets in the center of each side. It is in perfect condition with original slipcover.
